Competition is no stranger to Novi native Nicole Blaszczyk, the new Miss Michigan.
From a young age she competed in dance, winning the title of Miss Dance of Michigan in 2008. The Novi High School graduate was also competitive in sports, excelling in soccer, swimming, ice skating and gymnastics.
As Nicole competed in beauty pageants, she was no less successful there as well. She won the Miss Wayne County crown in 2008 and this year she won the Miss Michigan crown.
Blaszczyk is a senior at Wayne State University, majoring in marketing and working as a junior financial officer.
The Miss Michigan crown gives her a platform to push for causes dear to her, especially helping families affected by addiction.
