Fakih wins Miss Michigan USA crown

The state has a new Miss Michigan USA.

Rima Fakih, Miss Wayne County (USA), took the crown this evening at McMorran Auditorium in Port Huron.

Jamie Zade, Miss Shelby Township, earned first runner-up honors, while Racquel McClendon, Miss Upper Peninsula, earned second runner-up.
 

New Miss Wayne County aims to SAVE

A 21-year-old Cassopolis woman has been chosen as the new Miss Wayne County.

Moments after being selected, Anjelica Francisco, shared her excitement about winning the Miss Wayne County title.  “I am already looking forward to my duties this year - traveling, meeting new people, and getting the word out about my platform, which is SAVE: Students Against Violence Everywhere,” said Francisco.

As Miss Wayne County, Francisco receives a $630 scholarship and the opportunity to compete for the Miss Michigan title in Muskeg on June 19, 2010.  Currently a student at Eastern Michigan University and an intern at the 34th Judicial District Court in Wayne County, Francisco is majoring in psychology and hopes to pursue a private practice in psychology.
