GreenTwithTamara.TV is helping the Miss America Pageant make its first foray into green consciousness with the GreenTwithTamara.TV "Green is Gorgeous" INTERACTIVE Eco-Contest. Henry launched the contest at the 20th Annual Environmental Media Association Awards at Paramount Studios wearing a Tony Bowls signature green evening gown for that event's "green carpet." GreenTwithTamara.TV will announce the winner from the site of the Miss America Pageant at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
In conducting the interviews for her contest, "Green T" was impressed with the commitment by the pageant contestants -- and some of their more creative responses.
"The 2010 Miss America contestants have embraced their passion for green issues whether it be clean air, clean fuel, or clean water by personally taking their own steps to help conserve resources, recycle and reuse materials in their own lives," says Henry. "I think people will find the interviews fun, creative, educational and inspiring!"
GreenTwithTamara.TV is the web's premier portal for "Eco Conscious Entertainment." Launched in mid-2009, the site has already secured a steady following for its webisodes focusing on the latest green lifestyle and event coverage, celebrity interviews, eco-film premieres, featured eco-friendly businesses, green expos and more.
Tamara Henry (known as "Green T" for her devotion to the Earth's environment and to green living practices) is TV and the web's leading eco TV host and green personality. She has worked as an anchorwoman for thirteen years and has graced audiences with extensive coverage of red carpet and green carpet events for the film festival circuit, award shows and eco-green events.
Having competed in the Miss Arkansas pageant system herself, Henry is the ideal host and creator of the contest. She used the scholarship she won to earn her bachelors degree in broadcast journalism, which prepared her for her early career as a WB and Fox evening news anchor producing health and medical news.
It has been her passion for the health of the environment, her desire for clean ways of living, and her studies for a masters degree in Spiritual Psychology (with an emphasis in Consciousness, Health & Healing) that has deepened her career in the past few years and inspired her to create GreenTwithTamara.TV which can be seen at www.GreenTwithTamara.TV. Committed to everything green, "Green T" truly lives the green lifestyle, and "walks the talk" -- she has been living car-free in auto-centric Los Angeles for the past nine years, and instead has been roller-blading, carpooling and taking public transportation to get around the city.
"At GreenTwithTamara.TV, we are dedicated to promoting environmental awareness through eco-entertainment, and the convergence of television, the internet, and new media," says Green T. "Our mission is one of HOPE, Healing Our Planet Earth. We are pleased to be joining with the 2010 Miss America Pageant to continue to spread that message.
