Private Interview
You should wear something appropriate for a job interview, but a little dressier. Dresses, business suits, and shirt/skirt combinations are all possibilities. The Miss America Organization seems to be heading away from the typical "pageant" suit. Please keep this in mind when selecting your outfit, but know that suits are always appropriate.

You will compete in an outfit of your own choosing, representative of what you would wear to a formal, black tie event. Floor length evening gowns are the most popular choice, but not required, for this phase of competition. (Tip: A floor length gown should just touch the floor in front of your big toe.) Remember, it doesn't matter how much the ensemble costs, but how the candidate wears it.
