How to Apply

The Miss America Opportunity stands for empowering young women across the country to be the best they can be through leadership, talent, communication skills and smarts. Each year, thousands of young women participate at the local, state and national levels, culminating in the selection of 51 national finalists who compete for the title of Miss America.  One of them could be you!

To become Miss America, a contestant must first win a local competition and then compete to represent her state, a process requiring personal commitment, hard work, and talent.  A woman may compete at the state level more than once but may only compete in the national Miss America competition one time.

Important Notes:
  1. Do not use any link for the delegate agreement other than the one sent to you after completing your MAO membership.

Step 3: SpotFund Registration & Donation

Step 3: SpotFund Registration & Donation

MAO is a proud partner of the American Heart Association (AHA), and each contestant must raise $30 for each local competition she participates in. Please note that additional funds are welcome but they WILL NOT ROLLOVER to the next local.

After completing your delegate agreement in Step 2, you will receive an e-mail with a unique link to proceed to the Spot Fund registration.

Important Notes:
  1. Title your Miss Wayne County campaign in the following format: JaneDoeWayneMI2027
  2. Once your Spot Fund $30 donation is completed, upload a screenshot of the completed donation on the Paperwork & Submissions page.

Step-by-Step Guide
Please note that if you already have a SpotFund account from a previous year, you must still click the new link to connect your account for the current C27 Cycle. Otherwise, funds may be allocated to the wrong year or become lost when the previous link closes.

C26 delegate profiles will expire on July 22, 2025. You do not want funds for C27 to be allocated to your old cycle profile. Once that profile expires, you will not receive fundraising credits for C27.
🚨‼️If this is NOT your first C27 competition:‼️🚨
  1. Go to your MAO Subscription account and sign up for Miss Wayne County.
You will not be charged for this as you have already paid the once a year fee. Do not pay again during this cycle!
  2. Go to your current Spot Fund account and choose this local to set up a new campaign. Simply pull down and choose Miss Wayne County.
📢 REMINDER: Each local requires a $30 donation. 📢
You cannot use a previous local's campaign.
(Title your Miss Wayne County campaign in the following format: JaneDoeWayneMI2027)
     3.  Navigate over to the Paperwork / Submissions page:
  • Upload a copy of your signed Delegate Agreement previously used for your first CY2027 competition. You will also need to turn in a paper copy at rehearsal on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
  • Submit the link to your Eligibility Document Folder (page 16 of your agreement).
  • Upload a screenshot of your completed SpotFund donation.
